Friends For All

Friends For Life Corporation was founded in 1985 and in 2023 underwent a ‘re-branding’ which included changing its name to Friends For All (FFA) to reflect its expansion from the focus of serving people living with HIV/AIDS to include serving all members of the community regardless of HIV status. The mission of Friends For All continues to be to prevent the spread of HIV and help those affected by HIV/AIDS live well, but with a new emphasis on HIV prevention by addressing the social determinants of health that can lead to infection. As HIV/AIDS and its treatment have evolved, the organization has become one of the largest and most comprehensive AIDS service organizations in the southern United States. Friends For All moved into its new headquarters in October 2023, increasing space by 155% and allowing for significant expansion of programs and impact on the community.

Five major divisions make up Friends For All, providing a comprehensive continuum of care. Medical servicesare provided by staff Nurse Practitioners at The Corner clinic and by a mobile unit. Clinical services include medical case management, early intervention, behavioral health counseling, oral health care, in-house pharmacy services, and nutritional counseling. Support services include a digital health literacy program, insurance assistance, food pantry, a congregate meal program, and emergency financial/transportation assistance. Also included are the Resource/Education Center serving as a drop-in center and the Wellness University educational program. Housing services include permanent supportive housing, short-term housing, and homeless prevention services. HIV Prevention services include two programs: The Haven, an outreach program specifically targeting young African American men, and The Corner clinic PrEP/PEP clinic.
