Tunica County Community development exist to improve the quality of life for low and moderate income residents of Tunica county by providing economic development, housing development, credit counseling and supportive services.
What We Do
Tunica County CDC is a not for profit organization with a mission of developing affordable housing for low income families and providing credit counseling and Homebuyer education services. TCCDC exists to improve the quality of life for low and moderate-income residents of Tunica county by providing economic/housing development & supportive service to clients. Tunica County CDC Youth Entrepreneurship Program is designed to teach at-risk youth between the ages of 15 and 19 entrepreneurship skills at an early age. The students participating in the Entrepreneurship Program is identified as potential dropout and at-risk of engaging in crime at an early age. The program teaches youth entrepreneurship skills, prepare students to be better managers of their finances and enhance the probability of employment. Students participating in the program have demonstrated increased self-esteem, motivate professional mannerism and dress. The staff has utilized the entrepreneurship curriculum approved by the Mississippi Department of Education in conjunction with Entrepreneurship Youth in Action textbook and instructor toolkit. Students complete a business plan, resume, and workplace development skills. There are three session offered each school term with 35-40 students successfully graduating from the program after 40 hours of instruction.
