Who We Are

Our agency provides after school and summer programs to youth ages 6 to 18 years old. We provide a safe place, a positive environment, fun activities, supportive relationships and opportunities along with school year and summer learning. Club youth acquire physical, social, technological, artistic and life skills. We help youth develop moral character, healthy eating and active lifestyles. We have high expectations and help young people do well in school and pursue a post-secondary education.

What We Do

To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. BGCHRR offers a variety of programs to meet the needs of our youth. The goal is to provide opportunities for character & leadership development , education & career development , health & life skills, the arts, as well as sports, fitness & recreation. Our approach is multifaceted. One program that we use is the Torch Club. This is a group leadership and service club for youth. Another program that we use is the Keystone Club. They conduct activities in three areas: academic success, career exploration & community service. Career Launch is another fun & exciting program that prepares teens for the working world. Diplomas 2 Degrees is our college readiness program that guides Club members as they work toward high school graduation & prepare for post-secondary education & career success. Power Hour: Making Minutes Count helps Club members achieve academic success by providing homework help, tutoring & high-yield learning activities and encouraging members to become self-directed learners. Triple Play, BGCA’s comprehensive health and wellness initiative, strives to improve the overall health of youth by increasing their daily physical activity, teaching them good nutrition & helping them develop healthy relationships. Our youth participate in a comprehensive social recreation program and are able to develop & sustain positive relationships with others, acquire a healthy self-concept & a strong belief in their self-worth and cope well with both positive and adverse situations.
