ITN Volunteer Driver Position Description
Position: ITN Volunteer Driver
Main Duty: Drive ITN customers (seniors 60 and older, and visually impaired persons) to desired destination within the greater Memphis area.
Time Frame:
Length of Commitment: 1 year (or longer, if desired)
Estimated Hours: 3 hours a month (or more, if desired)
Schedule: Flexible – we will accommodate you
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s license and 3 years driving experience
- Ability to lift wheelchairs (< 22 lbs), walkers,& carry packages
- Acceptable record of safe driving
- Acceptable background check
- Personal references from three non-relatives
- Proof of liability insurance for vehicle
- Current registration

Responsibilities:
- Providing safe, comfortable, dignified transportation
- Keeping a positive attitude with your customers, and interacting with them with sensitivity and patience
- Keeping your vehicle clean
- Maintaining confidentiality of ITN customers and staff
- Being on time
- Reporting your mileage
- Never consume alcohol the day of a ride (before the ride)
- Wearing your ID and having the ITN placard visible
- Calling dispatch with any changes, such as running late, making an unscheduled stop, canceling a scheduled ride. Please - MAINTAIN GOOD COMMUNICATION WITH DISPATCH ABOUT EVERYTHING
