Who We Are

The Germantown Charity Horse Show is an all-breed show for locals and out-of-towners, young and old, new to horses and old timers. Expect to be amazed at the beautiful horses, skillful riders and fun crowds. From hunter jumpers (yes, jumping over fences) to carriage driving and Gypsy Vanner horses, and from American Saddlebred to Paso Fino classes, you will see a variety of horses and riding styles. The show benefits Kindred Place (formerly known as the Exchange Club Family Center of Memphis) and has contributed to local education programs. The Germantown Charity Horse Show is a U.S. Equestrian Federation Heritage Competition, giving it national recognition for its contribution to the community and to the sport. You can read more about the show here.

What We Do

The Germantown Charity Horse Show is proud to sponsor as our charity Kindred Place (formerly known as the Exchange Club Family Center). This 2019 show will mark our 21st year to help raise funds for this vital organization. Begun in 1984 to help prevent child abuse, Kindred Place’s mission is to break the cycle of child abuse and neglect by replacing abusive and violent behavior with effective parenting skills. Kindred Place offers programs and services in three major areas: family violence, parenting education, and anger management. Last year, the center served over 4,000 clients and family members in the Mid-South area, according to their website. It is one of 76 Kindred Place Centers in the nation. The Germantown Charity Horse Show has sponsored Kindred Place as its charity since 1999. Thanks to this partnership, more than $700,000 has been raised over 19 years to support their mission to end family violence. These funds provide professional counseling, group therapy, and educational programming for children, adults, and whole families. As Kindred Place Executive Director Jennifer Balink points out, “Every donation is an investment in healthy relationships and non-violent conflict resolution – the hallmarks of a kindred community.” For more information about the help Kindred Place offers families, please see their website at: https://kindred-place.org
