MENTOR Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to harnessing the power and promise of sport to transform lives, particularly those of children living at risk. As the philanthropic arm of the Grizzlies organization, the Foundation is focused on finding, funding and creating youth development programs in Memphis that help students discover and meet their potential. Since 2001, we have invested more than $40 million in three strategic focus areas related to youth development: innovative K-12 education programming, high-impact health and fitness initiatives, and expanded platforms for youth mentoring – all as a means to help prepare every student in Memphis for success in college, career and life. By collaborating with a broad range of constituents, the Grizzlies Foundation has established a proven track record of success in driving change through innovative public/private investments. In 2012, the team earned the prestigious Beyond Sport Sports Team of the Year award in acknowledgement of its commitment to meaningful community service.

MENTOR Memphis Grizzlies unites a broad range of local community organizations, businesses and civic leaders to promote, support and advocate youth mentoring. With a focus on increasing the number and impact of mentor relationships in Memphis, the Partnership provides resources, leadership, and, in some cases, funding to more than 70 local mentoring programs serving over 4,300 young people across Memphis.
