Who We Are
Creative Life is non-profit community youth development corporation which has served the children and families of southwest Memphis since 1988.
Our mission is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ by providing creative learning opportunities for urban youth and their families in our service area.
Our primary goal is that children and youth be strengthened in their capacity to pursue school success and are equipped with tools to resist the social pressures towards delinquent and destructive behaviors.
Our secondary goal is that the family will be supported and strengthened in their capacity to be strong, caring, and self-sufficient.
The program started with 40 youth in an after school program at Carver High School that would spiritually, educationally and socially impact the lives of the students. Although, the program was quite successful in the first year with growth to 67 students, Dr. Bibbs felt that the program would be more beneficial if started with younger children.
The following year the program added both Kansas Elementary School and Riverview Middle School. The growth of the program caused the ministry to seek a larger place that would house the participants and staff. The current facility, a 21,000 square foot warehouse located at 1222 Riverside was renovation and is now owned and operated by the ministry.
