KQ has actively promoted youth and community development in South Memphis for over 25 years. We serve youth primarily residing in the 38126 and 38106 zip codes from three sites within a 2-mile corridor along Walker Ave known as the "Knowledge Quest Kids Zone." At KQ, we are most known for our promotion of academic excellence in after-school settings among youth, grades Pre-K through 12, through a 'cradle to career' continuum methodology.

KQ is a non-profit organization which actively promotes youth and community development in the South Memphis community. Operating through 4 strategic programs: Extended Learning Academy, Early Childhood Academy, Family Stability Centers,  and Green Leaf Learning Farm. KQ strives to transform lives by expanding minds.

To vigorously equip youth and their families to maximize their potential through education, wellness, and economic stability. The Family Stability Centers (FSC), begun in 2013, offers assistance to families experiencing crisis, particularly financial crisis that may lead to the loss of their current place of residence. Housing instability is related to increased school mobility, decreased school attendance, and diminished performance. The goal of the program is to enhance the academic success of youth by addressing crises related to housing needs. While housing needs are a key issue addressed by FSC, the program works with families on a wide range of issues. The types of services offered include: assistance completing forms for housing; assistance accessing other available supportive services; presentation of life skills sessions designed to promote greater household stability (with topics including healthy communication, effective parenting, budget planning, and tenant issues); and short-term counseling and support.
