Tipton County Commission on Aging

The Tipton County Commissiom on Aging is the sole service provider for seniors and caregivers in Tipton County. TCCA provides countywide transportation, programs and support for a multipurpose senior center, social model adult day service, comprehensive family caregiver program and access to information, education and advocacy training.

The Mission of the Tipton County Commission on Aging is to promote Independence, Wellness and Advocacy to seniors, caregivers and their families. Tipton County Commission on Aging's Adult Day Respite Service (Helen's House) is social model adult day program for persons with some form of dementia including Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson’s, Stroke and the like. Helen's House provides respite for caregivers as well as a cognitive and physically stimulating safe and social environment designed to decrease confusion and anxiety for the participants. Available three (3) days a week from 8AM to 3PM(6hrs daily) with additional hours available as requested. Client to staff ratio is 4:1. Daily activities include reminiscence, physical exercise, arts and crafts, music and individually designed therapeutic activities and games that help to maintain cognitive skills and mobility as long as possible. Helen's House clients also enjoy the benefits of the regular senior center activities and programs appropriate to their level of ability. Helen's House is available to residents of Tipton and surrounding counties.
