The Tate County Literacy Council provides General Education Diploma (GED) test preparation, Hi-SET test preparation, literacy, and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to adult students of all ages, free of charge.
What We Do
The purpose of this council shall be to recruit and tutor non-reading adults in reading and writing; to provide training and inspiration for tutors, leaders, and writers; to promote interest and support by citizens of the county; and to work cooperatively with other literacy or educational projects. In addition, the literacy council will provide compitent and confidential tutoring and small group classes to persons seeking to improve their basic skills and obtain a high school equivalancy (HSE).
