Tennessee Poison Center

TPC is provides poison control service for the mid-South region and every county in Tennessee. TPC is the only poison control center in Tennessee. TPC provides first aid treatment advice to the public and healthcare community for information and treatment regarding any poison exposure. Last year 70% of the hotline calls from the mid-south counties were safely managed at home under the guidance of the poison specialist, preventing unnecessary trips to hospital emergency rooms and physicians' offices.

Tennessee Poison Center goals are to prevent poisonings, minimize poisoning complications and reduce the number of poison related deaths in Tennessee. Tennessee Poison Center provides immediate medical treatment advice to residents seeking help, information and treatment advice regarding suspected toxic exposures to drugs, chemicals, plants, and other substances. Tennessee Poison Center provides professional education and crucial information to the public on poison prevention. And TPC provides every resident 24 hour surveillance for chemical and biological terrorism.
