Who We Are

Special Olympics Greater Memphis provides athletic training and competition to over 2500 individuals with intellectual disabilities in Shelby and Fayette counties. Special Olympics is a year-round program and is provided at no cost to the athletes or their families.

What We Do

To provide year-round sports training and athletic competitions in a variety of sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competitions in a variety of Olympics type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in sharing gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympians, and the community.
