DeSoto County Foundation for Excellence in Education Inc

The objective of the Foundation for Ex. in Educ. is to enhance the quality of education in DeSoto Co.by providing funding for school enrichment programs that demonstrate effective ways to meet student needs & increase the desire to learn. We do this by awarding grants to teachers for learning programs that would be unavailable if teachers had to rely on the school budget. It is the only organization in DeSoto Co sanctioned by the DeSoto Co Board of Educ. for tax exempt solicitation purpose.

To receive & use funds to be used for education purposes in the DeSoto Co. Schools & to provide assistance in programs that show effective ways to meet student needs & increase motivation to learn. Classroom Teacher Grant Program / Student Scholarship Program: The primary objective of the Foundation is to enhance the quality of education in DeSoto County by providing private funding for enrichment programs and offerings in the DeSoto County Schools. The Foundation provides assistance in initiating programs that demonstrate motivation and effective ways to meet student needs and increase their desire to learn. The Foundation achieves its objective by awarding mini grants to teachers that fund innovative learning programs in the classroom that would be unavailable if teachers were forced to rely on the school budget alone. The Foundation also provides scholarships to outstanding DeSoto County students who choose to pursue a college education.
