Alpha Omega Veterans Services, Inc.

Alpha Omega is a non-profit charity established in 1987 to provide food, shelter, clothing, housing and rehabilitative services to homeless, displaced and disabled veterans with the goal of enabling them to return to permanent housing and stable, productive lives. Our mission for over 30 years has been to: "Help veterans help themselves" by fully reintegrating them back into society.

We provide disabled and homeless veterans with the social services needed to totally reintegrate them back into society. Such services are food, shelter, clothing, referrals for training in vocational, educational and job placement goals, community service referrals, individual and group counseling and other such services and facilities specifically designed to meet their physical, social and psychological needs.

The AOVS Permanent Supportive Housing Program has 3 facilities. Court Avenue is a 32- unit apartment complex serving chronically homeless, dual-diagnosed veterans with persistent and severe disabilities.

The Depot Single Room Occupancy (SRO) facility for homeless veterans unable to succeed in transitional housing programs.

The Depot Townhouses increases provide permanent congregate living for formerly homeless veterans. Case management services support the ongoing needs of formerly homeless veterans, including: benefits assessment; substance abuse and mental health;advocacy services; and socialization programs.

AOVS clients also access 40 services via referral with other agencies.The goal of permanent supportive housing is to provide affordable, secure, stable housing to vulnerable homeless veterans, and to provide case mgt. support for a sound and viable lifestyle, to build a foundation on which each client can obtain gainful employment and social functioning.
