Mentors and mentees attend Grizzlies games together, eat at local restaurants, visit local attractions, go to movies, and so much more! We wish to encourage our youth to reach their God-given potential and find their purpose by building meaningful and long-lasting relationships. Requirements for mentors: Complete a volunteer application Provide references Pass a background check Complete an interest assessment with a member of STREETS staff to best match your mentee Attend a New mentor training with MENTOR Grizzlies and a Pathways New Mentor Training Commit to 1 hours per week for 1 school year, between 2:30-6pm, Monday - Friday. We have a waiting list of 20+ students eager to be assigned a mentor. Will you serve? STREETS is committed to responding to our community’s needs, especially during these unique times. In response to Shelby County Schools’ decision to operate fully virtually, STREETS will serve as a Virtual Learning Hub for students to access technology/Wi-Fi, in-person adult support, and meals during the school day. Volunteers can sign up to work a 3-hour shift, Monday-Thursday, from 7:30am-3:30pm. Our students need your support, please fill out an application here!
