Social Distancing Volunteer Opportunity on the Green Leaf Learning Farm
Volunteerism is essential to the execution of the Green Leaf Program Model. Social distancing is naturally built in as we engage volunteers across 3 acres. For volunteers seeking a reprieve from four walls and a nice nature boost, we have numerous opportunities available to you. Volunteers are needed to help with harvesting vegetables, weeding, and much more around the farm.
Green Leaf Learning Farm is a KQ signature program that centers on the ⅔-acre urban micro farm that sits directly across from our main campus. On the farm, KQ students and community members learn how to grow food in ways that build community and increase the neighborhood’s access to healthy goods. Our students become healthy eaters, entrepreneurs, and advocates for social and environmental justice.
Volunteers are asked to wear closed toe shoes, bring your own mask, bring your own water, and dress for the weather. If you have your own gardening gloves, please feel free to bring those as well.
Please park next to the playground, adjacent to the farm.
