The Memphis Jewish Home is a not-for-profit nursing home, Jewish in character and environment, dedicated to providing the highest quality of care with dignity, compassion, and professionalism. The Restorative Nursing program is three tiered. Physical and Occupational therapy is tier one. Restorative exercise is tier two. Functional Maintenance is tier three. The program begins upon referral to our therapy department or upon admission. Physical, occupational and speech therapists work with our clients until they achieve a plateau of physical function. Therapy can last from a few weeks to several months. At the point of plateau, a restorative exercise program is created. The restorative exercise program usually lasts for a period of six weeks. In this phase the restorative aides engage the client in a specific routine and exercise program designed to continue improvement. At the end of that six week period our client's transition to a functional maintenance level with a specific program of exercises designed to maintain their best level of function. This phase continues indefinitely in order to maintain the highest level of physical function possible.
